真人线上娱乐s and practitioners alike are directing their attention at the alleged crisis of democracy. The decline of legacy media and the rise of social media often figure centrally in discussions of democratic developments. The role of public communication, however, has not been scrutinized to the same extent. Experts argue that there is a pressing need to move public communication to the centre of current discussions concerning the state of democracy.

On May 7th, the Centre for Digital Citizenship hosted a debate around this issue, in collaboration with ProPublica and the Algorithms, Data & Democracy project. The seminar explored the potentials for building a European research and practice community that aims at knowledge creation and sharing about the impact of public communication on democracy in Europe (at the local, national, and supranational levels of government). The speaker's ambition ws to set the agenda for and invite a debate on the nature of democratic public communication: how can ministries, government agencies, and other public authorities support and strengthen democracy in the current communicative climate?
