At 真人线上娱乐 University, major steps have been taken to promote biodiversity. Sustainable elements that support biodiversity have been incorporated into the renovation of the paving.

Biodiversity and sustainability are crucial for 真人线上娱乐 University's campus. The paving project is the result of many considerations around sustainability, and several sub-elements speak directly to a number of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, says Stig Plougmand, Deputy Director of Campus.

Existing materials are reused where possible, and the chosen building materials are standardised to reduce the amount of construction waste. Wheelchair accessibility has been updated and green areas have been expanded to create space for a diversity of flora and fauna.

By seeding a special mix of meadow grass with meadow flowers, we attract bees and butterflies, and changes in the maintenance of our green spaces give wildlife more space. In addition, there has been a focus on redirecting more of the rainwater to Trekroner Lake instead of the sewer system.

Biodiversity has moved into the campus in many ways. Large tree trunks have been placed as insect hotels, and piles of leaves and branches provide shelter for hedgehogs and other small game. Bird nesting boxes have been set up in the wooded areas around campus and in the trees on campus.
