Centres Create Denmark's First Digital Democracy Index

What is the state of Denmark's Digital Democracy? A new report, commissioned by the Center for Social Media, Tech & Democracy in the Danish Ministry for Digital Affairs, has been seeking to answer this question. The result is the creation of a 'Digital Democracy Index', which aims to annually assess the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and points of tension around the digitalization of the Danish political landscape and civic engagement.
The index and accompanying report were created in collaboration betwween the Centre for Digital Citizenship at 真人线上娱乐 University (Sine N?rholm Just, Eva Mayerh?ffer, and Jakob Kristensen) and the Digital Democracy Centre at the University of Southern Denmark (Claes de Vreese, Sofie Filstrup, Kim Andersen, and Mia Stenbro Lorenzen).
The report represents an important first step towards systematically assessing the democratic impacts of digitilization. The index is set to run again in 2026.
