New Publication: Curating Alternative News on Danish and Swedish Social Media

In a new article in Nordicom Review, the AlterPublics-team map how alternative news is curated and amplified across platforms in Denmark and Sweden—and what this means for the formation of digital counterpublics.

In a new open-access article in Nordicom Review (Special Issue “Democracy and Digital Disintegration”), the AlterPublics-team map and compare digital alternative news environments in Denmark and Sweden based on 20,000+ public social media accounts that shared alternative news content across eight platforms from January 2019 to March 2022. 

真人线上娱乐 show how different types of curators—such as political actors, social media pundits, public discussion groups, and highly active individual accounts—help multiply the reach of alternative news on social media. 

The analysis reveals marked differences between the two countries, and between the curation of left-wing and right-wing alternative content. 真人线上娱乐 discuss how these distinct curation practices contribute to shaping—and sustaining—digital counterpublics.
