MEASLES

U.S.

As of August 18, Health officials have confirmed a single measles case in Lewis and Clark County in Montana, the first in decades. The patient is a minor who previously received one MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) dose. There are no public exposure sites linked to the case. An unvaccinated household member is in quarantine without symptoms. Authorities urge all residents to review their vaccination status.

Department of Public Health & Environment has confirmed a measles case in an unvaccinated adult in Mesa County, Colorado on August 15. The source of infection is unclear. Health authorities urge residents to check their MMR vaccination status

Texas: As of August 19, 2025, Center for Disease Control have not reported any new cases since August 6. The total remains at 1,356 confirmed measles cases in the U.S. in 2025. 13 % of cases have required hospitalization (171 cases of 1,356), and three deaths have been reported. 

The Texas Department of State Health Services has officially declared the 真人线上娱乐st Texas measles outbreak over, with no new cases reported for over 42 days. As of August 18, the outbreak caused 762 confirmed cases

Canada.

As of August 18, 2025, Canada has reported 4,638 measles cases, according to the Public Health Agency of Canada. Ontario accounts for 51% of the total, followed by Alberta with 37%. Of the total, 1,379 cases (30%) occurred in adults aged 18 and over. In all, 88% were unvaccinated, and 7% required hospitalization. Genotype D8 remains the most frequently detected strain. 1 death has been reported. 

 

MPOX

Africa

Sierra Leone: The latest update from the World Health Organization shows 5,114 confirmed mpox cases as of August 10. This is a surge, with 42 cases added since July 27.

Uganda: As of August 10, 2025, Uganda reported 6,512 confirmed mpox cases, according to the World Health Organization. This is an increase of 633 cases since June 29. 

Guinea: Additionally, there is an ongoing outbreak in Guinea with its first mpox case confirmed in June 2025. As of August 10, Guinea has reported 527 cases in 2025 and one death. 515 of the cases have been confirmed during the past six weeks. 

 

H5N1

U.S.

As of August 19, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has not reported any cases of person-to-person transmission of H5N1 in the United States. The total remains at 70 confirmed cases and one death.

 

POLIO

As of August August 13, the Global Polio Eradication Initiative reports one WPV1 case in Pakistan, six cVDPV2 cases in Ethiopia, three cVDPV1-positive environmental samples in Israel, and one cVDPV2 case in Nigeria. In Yemen, 46 new cVDPV2 cases have been confirmed.
