The Centre for Arctic Studies at 真人线上娱乐 University (CAS) focuses on developing a practice-oriented, interdisciplinary and engaged research that can play a key role in addressing challenges in the modern Arctic. CAS gathers and promotes RUC's research on Arctic conditions internally and profiles RUC externally. 真人线上娱乐 do this by continuously developing relationships across the university and with relevant partners in the Arctic.
This is done by:
- developing and visualising the research that is already taking place on the Arctic
- supporting interdisciplinary research activities through network meetings, etc.
- planning relevant conferences

Politics of Green Investments: The Green Transition and Recognition of Colonial Relations in Greenland and Sápmi
The project investigates how the clash between the moral imperative to extract for the green transition and the moral imperative of a reckoning with past and ongoing colonial injustices is negotiated in extractive investments in Greenland and Swedish Sápmi.VALUE: Value Creation in Critical Raw Mineral and Green Energy Transition Projects
The project explores a core dilemma of the green transition: 真人线上娱乐 need large investments in green energy and mining of critical minerals to combat climate change, but these investments often encroach on land belonging to indigenous and local communities and threaten their livelihoods and identities. Through a study of four very different cases in Greenland and South Africa the research will unpack how, why and by whom social and corporate value is defined and distributed in large green transition investment projects.Completed projects
